Should a Christian celebrate Christmas?
by Samsie inhello, i'm new here and have woken up to the real truth concerning the org.
i'm sort of fading away at the moment.... i need help with something, i used to as a child celebrate christmas and have always had amazing memories of it (my husband hasn't as he was born into the org) but i gave it up when i learnt the "truth".
my interest was only in pleasing god and still is.

"People who kill the enemy in a military operation are not guilty of murder. God will sort out the details in due time."
I ve never came across in the bible to anything close to this.Sure you have, its been quoted on this thread many times. You just won't receive it.
Romans 13: 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.

@GB
You cant have it both ways. You can't pick a broad statement about being no part of the world and then ignore the clear SPECIFIC purpose of governments : is to BEAR THE SWORD. They are GOD'S MINISTER. People who kill the enemy in a military operation are not guilty of murder. God will sort out the details in due time.
1. JW's are at war with their own governments because they do not recognize governments in the biblical way as God's ordained ministers of justice. They believe that God chose themselves to rule the world in 1919 and all the other governments other than their own are illegitimate.
2. JW's are at war with God because they got the wrong Jesus. They believe in Michael the Archangel rather than the risen Son of God who commanded "all" to partake of the New Covenant (Mt. 26: 27-28) and get your sins taken away and get born again with a new and better spirit.
3. JW's are at war with their neighbors because they bind up heavy loads on others they themselves are not willing to bear. They destroy families with their shunning policies. Blind guides, filled to the brim with self-importance is what they are. They create many unbiblical rules that they require others to live by but they won't. They live in a web of lies and virtually demand that others live the same way.

@Dreary Weather - I'm glad they are out. I wonder if they still feel the same about the WT after (presumably) now having access to the Internet?

"Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will [a]bring judgment on themselves....
For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil". - Rom. 13:
Jehovah's Witnesses live a life in rebellion to authority. They rebel first and foremost against Jesus when they mock his sacrifice every memorial by disobeying his command to eat and drink "for the forgiveness of sins" (Mt. 26: 27-28)
Then, they rebel against their own government that God has allowed at this time when it suits their whims.
Although they dress up the outside of the product, the reality is that JW's live a life in near total rebellion against God and their fellow-man. "They bind up heavy loads on others". For these and other reasons, they are almost impossible to get along with.Jesus called people like this white-washed tombs.

Here's what I make of it. After pumping the 1975 failed prophecy, and then riding the generation false prophecy for all it was worth, they finally ran out of false prophecies to write about to cause mass hysteria with.
Now there is nothing but mass exodus.

Excellent reference TBK.
Here's the reference in Luke 3: 14-
And some soldiers were questioning him, saying, “And what about us, what shall we do?” And he said to them, “Do not take money from anyone by force, or accuse anyone falsely, and be content with your wages.”Jesus basically said for them to be lawful, do their job and be don't stealing anybody's stuff. Compare this with the reaction a soldier would get if he attended a KH service in his uniform and asked what he needed to do to join their group.
A couple hundred years later an entire legion of Roman Soldiers happened to be Christian because they were recruited in an area around Thebes where there were many Christians. They were good soldiers doing their job, helping to keep law and order in the empire, content with their wages. They are remembered as the Theban Legion Martyrs.
They alone had the gall to stand up to Caesar when he was hunting Christians:
"You order us to seek out Christians for punishment. You do not now have to seek out others on this charge since you have us here confessing: We believe in God the Father maker of all and God his Son Jesus Christ…." (AD 286)
Maximillian ordered them decimated again and again until none were left.
This is also an excellent reference to the early deity of Christ belief.
